Access tests to intermediate level training cycles

The entrance exams to intermediate level training cycles are organized by each Autonomous Community and, after passing it, the student can choose any intermediate level cycle throughout Spain.

What requirements must be met to access the test?

The only thing that is required to access the intermediate grade entrance test is to be 17 years old or to fulfill them during the year of the test. That is, if I intend to take the entrance exams to the middle grades that will be held in 2021, during 2021 I have at least 17 years of age.

What does the test consist of?
  • It is the same for all intermediate level training cycles

  • They will be organized around the following areas: communication, social and scientific-technological.

  • During the same year, you can only take the tests in a single Autonomous Community, even if the exams are held on different dates.

  • When you approve it, it will be valid throughout Spain.

Could it be that he is exempt from the test?

Each Autonomous Community has its own regulations regarding this, so, to make sure, it is best that you go to the education administration or consult the education website .

In general, you will be exempt from the scientific-technical part if you accredit work experience equivalent to one year in the professional field of the studies you want to access.

You will also be exempt from taking the complete test if you have passed the entrance exam to a higher degree or the entrance to the University for those over 25, but you should consult the administration for the procedure to follow before making the application for enrollment in the training cycle you want to access.

Access tests to higher-level training cycles

The entrance exams to higher degree training cycles are organized by each Autonomous Community and, after passing it, the student can choose any higher degree cycle throughout Spain.

What requirements must be met to access the higher grade entrance exam?

  • You must be at least 19 years old or reach them during the year of the tests. That is, if I intend to take the entrance exams to higher grade in 2021, I must, during that year, be at least 19 years old.

  • You must be 18 years old or fulfill them during the year of completion of the entrance exams, if you have already passed a Middle Degree Training Cycle from the same professional family of the degree you want to access or from another related to it.

  • It is not necessary to have any minimum qualification to take the entrance exam to a higher degree

  • According to the LOMCE, those students who have a medium degree may access a higher degree directly, but if what you want is to access a higher degree from a professional family different from that of your medium degree, you must take the entrance test to higher grade.

What does the test consist of?

The exam is made up of two parts, one common and one specific. The common is the same for everyone who takes the exam. And the specific part varies depending on the higher degree you want to access.

  • The common part is made up of four subjects, which are: Language and Literature (you can choose between Spanish or Valencian), Mathematics, English and Information Processing and Digital Competence.

  • In the specific part there are three options depending on the higher grade you want to access. You will have to choose two subjects depending on the branch you access.

    • Humanities and Social Sciences : choose two subjects between Geography, Business Economics and Contemporary History.

    • Technology : you must choose two subjects between Technical Drawing, Industrial Technology and Physics and Chemistry.

    • Sciences: Chemistry, Physics and Biology and Earth Sciences.

Generally, you can be exempted from the specific part if:

  • You have a middle degree degree from professional families of the same option of the specific part.

  • You accredit a work experience equivalent to one year full-time that corresponds to the higher degree cycle you want to access.

  • You have passed the specific part of the higher grade entrance exam in a previous call.

  • You have a certificate of professionalism of level 2 or higher from the same professional family of the degree you want to access.

  • If you passed the subjects of the specific part in high school.

You may be exempt from the common part if:

  • If you have already passed this test in any other call and now you want to do it to access another degree from another professional family.

  • If you passed the common part of the exam in a call from a previous year.

  • If you passed the subjects of the common part in high school.
