Professional Training Medium Technical Degree in Auxiliary Nursing Care

Access requirements

You can access a medium degree cycle when you meet any of the following requirements:

Direct access:

  • Be in possession of the title of Graduate in Compulsory Secondary Education or of a higher academic level.

  • Be in possession of a Basic Professional Title (Basic Professional Training).

  • Be in possession of a title of Technician or Assistant Technician or equivalent for academic purposes.

  • Have passed the second year of the Unified and Polyvalent Baccalaureate (BUP).

  • Having passed the University entrance exam for people over 25 years of age.

Access by test (for those who do not have any of the above requirements)

  • Have passed the entry test to intermediate level training cycles (it will be required to be at least seventeen years old, completed in the year of completion of the test).

What am I going to learn and do?

This professional will be able to:

  • Prepare the materials and process the information of the consultation / unit in the areas of its competence.

  • Apply auxiliary nursing care to the patient / client.

  • Take care of the sanitary conditions of the patient's environment and of the sanitary material / instruments used in the different consultations / units / services.

  • Collaborate in the provision of psychic care to the patient / client by applying, at their level, the application of psychological support and health education techniques.

  • Perform instrumentation tasks in oral health equipment.

The contents are grouped into the following professional modules:

  • Administrative operations and health documentation.

  • Basic nursing techniques.

  • Hospital environment hygiene and cleaning material.

  • Health Promotion and psychological support to the patient.

  • Dental / stomatological aid techniques.

  • Relations in the work environment.

  • Training and Labor Orientation (FOL).

In companies, at the end of the training in the educational center, completing it and carrying out activities typical of the profession:

  • Training in Work Centers (FCT).

At the end of my studies, what can I do?

Work in:

Exercise my professional activity in the health sector in private or public companies in the sector or creating my own company.

Keep studying:

  • Professional specialization courses

  • Another cycle of Vocational Training with the possibility of establishing validations of professional modules in accordance with current regulations.

  • The Baccalaureate in any of its modalities

  • Preparation of the Baccalaureate Assessment Tests (only core subjects)
